Three libraries run by Sarikei District Council (SDC) won awards in a state-level District Council library competition organised by the Ministry of Environment abd Public Health last year.

SDC Public Library at Jalan Kapor won the Best State Public Library Award while its Mobile Library and Village Library at Selalang bagged the consolation prizes.

The certificates were presented to SDC chairman, Chan Kam Wuai, by Assistant Minister of Local Government and Food Industries, Datuk David Teng, in a simple ceremony at the public library yesterday morning. Among those present were SDC Secretary, Justani Joni and councillors.
