Sarikei Council to spring-clean town from Feb 1 till 5
To assists locals with their preparations for the coming Chinese New Year celebration, Sarikei District Council (SDC) will be carrying out a spring-cleaning exercise from Feb 1 till 5.
Residents are therefore advised to take note of the waste collection schedule that had been distributed to them. Those who wish to get rid of unused items such as old furniture, household appliances and other bulky waste are advised to pile them up by the roadside on the day the collection is carried out in their respective areas.
SDC will provide lorries to help residents in Zone One, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, 13 and 14 dispose off the bulky waste while SDC scavenging contractor Syarikat Tenajaya would provide similar service in Zone Two, Three, Four, Five and Ten. The residents are reminded that they have to load disposed items onto the garbage trucks.
